Arkansas Learning Through the Arts (ALTTA) has the mission to improve student achievement by integrating cultural arts into the educational experience in order to ignite students’ interest in learning. We are currently seeking an Executive Director.
The Executive Director reports to the President of the Board of Directors and is responsible for directing and managing the organization. Primary responsibilities include strategic planning to ensure growth, managing staff to ensure implementation of the strategic plan, direct selling and marketing of the organization’s workshops, overseeing the effectiveness of those workshops, ensuring Arkansas curriculum standards are met, fundraising and partnerships to build external relationships, and the overall fiscal responsibility of the organization.

POSITION TITLE: Executive Director
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Exempt – Administrative
REPORTS TO: Board President
POSTION(S) SUPERVISED: All Staff and Contractors
Position Overview:
Reporting to the President of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for directing and managing the organization. Primary responsibilities include strategic planning to ensure growth, managing staff to ensure implementation of the strategic plan, direct selling and marketing of organization’s workshops, overseeing the effectiveness of those workshops, ensuring Arkansas curriculum standards are met, fundraising and partnerships to build external relationships, and the overall fiscal responsibility of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Organizational management and growth
- Responsible for management of the organization and establishing a trajectory for expansion and growth, including staff development.
- Develop and implement yearly plans to meet Board goals.
- Directly market and sell workshops and programs to prospective clients, including superintendents, principals and teachers.
- Responsible for HR functional areas including hiring, firing, training, employee relations, and compensation for both employees and contractors
- Plan for monthly Board meetings in conjunction with board president.
- Financial Management
- Work with staff, Board President, Treasurer and other Board designees to develop annual budget and staffing plan.
- Responsible for budget reporting process and following policies to ensure proper validity and proper documentation of all transactions.
- Allocate salaries among funding sources as required by grant requirements.
- Manage technical infrastructure to support organizational needs in SalesForce, DonorSnap, Docusign and other operational systems.
- Curriculum and Program Management
- Work with the Board, marketing the mission of ALTTA, building external relationships with targeted schools and other organizations.
- Initiate and develop relationships with organizations with common interests and goals.
- Develop and maintain curriculum for programming in collaboration with school curriculum specialists and principals.
- Ensure quality and effectiveness of programs through evaluation and assessment process.
- Development Activities
- In Collaborating with the Board, participate in fundraising activities including:
- Identifying potential donors and funding streams
- Monitor fundraising activities and adjust budgets according to actual revenue as necessary.
- Participate in donor solicitation processes, including appropriate acknowledgement as required by IRS regulations.
- Supervise the writing of grants and proposal requests.

- Promote the mission and values of the organization.
- Operates in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Advocating for ALTTA in all media, print, email, newspaper articles, newsletters, and public speaking.
Position Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in one of these relevant areas (public administration, non-profit management, professional sales, the arts). Experience in education and interest in/knowledge of the arts is not required but strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in organizational management and working knowledge of arts integrated instruction in schools is not required but strongly preferred.
- Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office or equivalent programs, and database usage along with demonstrated effective communication skills (oral and written).
Compensation:
- Starting salary: $65,000-80,000 depending on experience. Some benefits available.
