Cutter Morning Star Elementary School Kai Coggin
Poetry becomes magically alive under the tutelage of master poet Kai Coggin. “Exploring Feelings” is theme for 1st graders at Cutter Morning Star during arts-infused summer camp. Students develop social intelligence by learning about words that are expressive of feelings, discussing facial expressions, exploring emotions implicit in different stories and poems, and talking about how they might manage and control their own feelings.
Coggin, a published poet in Hot Springs, is one of the many teaching artists who provide learning opportunities for students throughout our state in schools supported by Arkansas Learning Through The Arts. The organization is affiliated with the National Young Audiences Arts for Learning network. The program supports learning opportunities in 25 schools throughout the state.
